Prayer for the Tired, Weary & Anxious
Dear Lord Jesus,
You are our good good Father.
Lord, we feel weak, tired and worn. We worry about what’s to come, but Lord please put us at ease. You tell us that you have not given us a spirit of fear or timidity, but one of power, love, and self-discipline.
Let us be reminded that You tell to come to You when we are weary and burdened for You will give us rest.
Let us be reminded that You are the Almighty God of the Universe who loved us so much to sacrifice Your only Son for our sins.
Let us be reminded that Your love is endless and steadfast — that Your love oh Lord reaches to the heavens and Your faithfulness to the skies.
Let us be reminded that we can have confidence that You who began a good work in us will carry it on into completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Let us be reminded of Your faithfulness up until this point and Your faithfulness to come. Your faithfulness in loving us even when we rejected you and failed you. Your faithfulness in bringing us up until to point even when the odds seemed against us, Your faithfulness in helping us get through our difficult tasks and obstacles set before us.
Lord, remind us daily of who we are and who we are in You. Lord we ask for Your strength and diligence so that we may work to glorify Your name. For this is so much bigger than us.
Lord, when we are discouraged, let us take courage in You. For You will never forsake or fail us, and You will be with us wherever we go.
So let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author, perfecter and finisher our of faith. We do not lose heart, though our outer selves are wasting away, our inner selves are being renewed day by day. Our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. They produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever. So we don’t look at the trouble we face now, but instead fix our eyes on the things unseen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! For the joy set before You, Jesus You endured the pain and suffering of the cross for our sakes. Through You we are able to be more than conquerors. Thank You Lord, for Your goodness, faithfulness and who You are. We love You, O Lord.
Amen.
